Abstract |
Trachemys scripta Seventeen juvenile red-eared slider turtles were separated into 2 groups: group A (n=9) received a diet that included vitamin C supplements (500 mg/kg); group B (n=18) received a similar diet without the supplements. Overall body mass and carapace length were measured monthly for 1 year. No significant differences were observed between the growth rates of the 2 groups, suggesting that dietary vitamin C is not essential for normal growth and development in juvenile red-eared slider turtles.
