Testudinidae Testudo hermanni hermanni Mediterranean tortoise population survey was done during the following 4 years after a forest fire. If was developed at the bottom of a 4.6 Ha valley. As a resu/t of this fire, full studies about structure and population dynamics (as well as total number of specimens in the area) were learnt. Information on mortality rates in the different groups attending sex and age (adult males, adult females and young specimens) were obtained.
